The Challenge

Patient health, wellbeing and education is a top priority for Cardiff UHB, and the Health Board continually strive to offer better, more efficient access to the most in-demand services.

So, when they wanted to roll out both musculoskeletal (MSK) and Mental Health Liaison services across their 62 GP surgeries in Cardiff, they knew that service uptake analysis would be key to monitoring its success.

And we had just the answer.

The Solution

Cardiff UHB use a mix of clinical systems, including Vision and EMIS Web, but analysis of comparable data would be crucial to not only provide insight and outcomes, but also to inform the service’s design.

Here’s what we did:

  • We provided mirror data entry templates for both MSK and Mental Health Liaison services.
  • We implemented a simple and intuitive reporting suite that individual surgeries could run, and the Health Board via ‘Outcomes Manager’ could collate.
  • We provided training for service providers at each GP location.
  • We provide ongoing consultancy for this project.
